Glamping is a more luxurious and comfortable form of camping and you can find plenty of good spots near London. Here are some of the best ways to go glamping and places that you can visit on the weekend.

Glamping in your own luxury motorhome

If you own or rent a motorhome you will find plenty of nice campsites that will allow you to enjoy a few days in nature. Going on a motorhome trip usually requires a little preparation including being prepared in case your van breaks down and finding the right insurance cover, but you will have the freedom to explore and spend the night in as many different places as you chose.

Glamping in the Surrey Hills

You can reach this camping spot in the Surrey Hills in just about an hour from London. It contains luxury yurts with double beds and a comfortable interior. Take long walks through beautiful meadows in the Surrey Hills, hop on your bike or even go horse riding. A trip to this campsite is perfect for couples, families, or groups of friends. You can even discover local art projects and enjoy cultural events.

Gravel Pit Farm, Kent

You can reach the Gravel Pit Farm by taking a train or driving to the pretty market town Tonbridge in Kent. The safari tents located at this site are very spacious and offer a perfect escape from busy city life for a weekend. You can enjoy a barbeque at sunset with your friends or family and this site is also perfect for children.

Re:treat Glamping in Bedford

The huts at the Re:treat Glamping site are located by a small lake and surrounded by beautiful green meadows. Relax on the porch or enjoy a book by the water. The huts contain kitchens and dining areas and Re:treat provides visitors with a map and a guide of the area, which explains where to find the best hiking trails and routes.

Birds & Bees Campsite in Suffolk

If you still prefer sleeping in a tent, but don’t enjoy being too close to nature, Birds & Bees Campsite in Suffolk might be the right choice. There are 15 tents for visitors which are spread out across a few fields. Showers and other facilities are nearby, and you will find plenty of sights to explore in the area. The coast is only about 20 minutes away by car and local pubs are also within reach. Many campers enjoy visiting the picturesque pier and beach in Southwold or take a trip to Aldeburgh to explore local shops and cafes.
