Having a rapid and evolutionary history of more than a hundred years, UPS has gained the trust of its clients and they want there every package covered by it. However, one can’t take anything for granted. UPS workers and employees are hard-working people dedicated to their work and office hours. The only times they get to rest are Sundays and the list of Federal state holidays as observed by the company. The list of these holidays must be noted while you are opting to choose UPS for your parcel delivery. While the UPS delivery service shall not be delivering in these Seven days of the year apart from Sundays, for urgent and emergency cases one gets the option of UPS Critical service which doesn’t take an off ever.

UPS Holidays 2019 :

Following are the dates in the United States in 2019 which are observed as holidays according to the UPS holiday schedule:

That’s a small list of holidays but marking the importance of these days, small confusions often arise in the minds of the customers. One must mark that Christmas Eve and Christmas day, both are off and the same goes for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. The 4th of July was the day of Independence for the United States and as such a nationally observed holiday, also followed by the UPS. Like all other offices, shops, companies, and government enterprises, UPS also remains closed on the 4th of July.  Often the most searched questions have been whether UPS delivers on days like Black Friday, Good Friday or an Easter Monday. The answer is a resounding yes. These days are not observed as holidays for UPS.

One must be wary of the Uniform Monday Holiday Act, according to which if any federal holiday observed in the States falls on a Saturday, then that holiday is to be observed on the preceding Friday. Similarly, if any federal holiday falls on a Sunday, then that holiday is to be observed on the following Monday. Therefore, in these cases as well, UPS remains closed due to these holidays.

When Does UPS Stop Delivering?

According to the Uniform Holiday Act, these holidays are referred to as the federal holidays and UPS observes these holidays to remain closed. Shipping can only take place for parcels marked under UPS Express Critical shipments which can be availed but by putting in extra charges for this special service.

There is an extended list of holidays that are recognized by the company but these are not counted as holidays according to UPS holiday hours and remain working. One may note the list of following days when other institutes may observe holidays but UPS remains working:

  1. Martin Luther King Jr. Day- January 21, 2019
  2. Valentine’s Day- February 14, 2019
  3. President’s Day- February 18, 2019
  4. Chinese New Year- February  5, 2019
  5. Daylight Saving Time begins- March 10, 2019
  6. St. Patrick’s Day- March 17, 2019

For shipping outside the United States or in the case of international delivery, one must note the holidays observed in their destination country. One can easily find out the holidays observed across the world for different countries and territories and on which days the UPS store takes a holiday. The list of holidays is regularly updated on the UPD website. The customer needs to go to the World Holiday Calendar page and select the country from the drop-down menu option. All the information and details can be easily found out through this simple method.

Having noted the days when UPS does take-offs, one must note that the company remains working all day and night for the rest of the days and is capable of very fast delivery in almost every scenario. UPS Express Critical delivery operates with some extra charges for emergency cases and runs globally in all 365 days of the year in all the hours of the week. There are a few other services developed by the company in the case of emergency deliveries apart from UPS Express Critical- UPS Worldwide Express, UPS 2nd Day Air and UPS Next Day Air. These services can help avail the UPS services on Saturdays and Sundays as well.

There are some days when everyone around you follows a holiday or takes an off, but often the urgency of a mail or package is unpredictable. That is the importance of mail and package services being availed on such days when other offices remain closed. For several people involved in business and shipment transfers, the dates need to be planned for the smooth flow of their work. One especially can’t take risks in the case of international deliveries. Hence, it becomes one of the most important aspects to determine business work based on when a particular shipment is arriving. Even for common people, some deliveries are too important to be missed out on a holiday or a mishap. UPS can be trusted in all the worst-case scenarios to dutifully take responsibility for your package and delivery time anywhere and at any time you wish.

Conclusion: Holidays of United Parcel Service were discussed above in this post. During the indicated dates or on the holidays mentioned above, the service will not be working. You may postpone your work if you have any regarding the parcel service.
