The bookstore chain Borders announced Wednesday morning that it has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and will be closing some 200 stores — about a third of its locations nationwide.
The map below shows the locations of Borders stores in the Bay Area (and some surrounding counties) that are slated for closure.
If you frequent any of these stores, what will the closures mean to you — more trips to the local indie bookstore? Nostalgic memories of sipping hot chocolate and reading for free all afternoon? Or, perhaps most common, nothing much — because you already buy all your books online or have stopped consuming physical books altogether.
