At a fundraiser next week for President Obama's re-election campaign, Alice Waters will whip up a little something local and organic for the First Lady and supporters who will pay $1,000 a head to attend.
Waters will have a little help in the kitchen. The invitation for the event promises "locally-produced breakfast by Alice Waters and friends."
In the invitation, which was e-mailed to "friends and family of Chez Panisse and Edible Schoolyard," Waters praised Michelle Obama's efforts to improve children's health and revealed a little more about the menu: "Her [Obama's] dedication to children's healthy eating has been an inspiration to all of us here at Chez Panisse, and we are enthusiastic supporters of her 'Let's Move' campaign," she wrote. "The menu will be a celebration of these ideals, featuring organic ingredients from local farmers and purveyors around the Bay Area -- including garlic toast from Acme Bread's very first Edible Schoolyard loaf!"
The breakfast is scheduled for Tuesday June 14th at the Golden State Warriors' practice facility in Oakland.
