Authorities are investigating allegations that two second-graders at Markham Elementary School in Oakland engaged in oral sex in class.
According to KGO, school district officials said two incidents occurred in the classroom. In one, students said the teacher was present when two students engaged in sex acts multiple times during class. The other incident involved several students taking their clothes off.
None of the acts, which occurred last week, appeared to be forced, according to the school district. The school learned what happened when a student told a staff member Wednesday. The teacher said he was not aware of the incidents.
The Tribune said the teacher is on administrative leave while the school district investigates. Oakland police and the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office have also launched investigations.
