Southern California has experienced a series of earthquakes in the last 12 hours: Magnitude 4.4 and 2.7 temblors struck Yorba Linda last night, and a magnitude 4.1 quake rattled the city at 9:33 this morning.
This reminded us of a handy tool to add to your emergency preparedness kit. Our sister site, California Watch, last year created the myFault app for smartphones. It shows how the places you care about might be affected by landslides or liquefaction zones in the event of an earthquake. California Watch used data from the California Geological Survey to locate nearby hazards. You can verify information with the official state maps; displays can adjust the way maps look on smartphones.
MyFault is available for iPhones in the App Store. Click here to download.
