Kaplan and Quan Urge Peace On Front Lines of Protest

As police closed in on the east side of 14th street near the corner of Broadway, a demonstrator threw something into the intersection. Our video captured Oakland City Council members Jean Quan and Rebecca Kaplan, who formed a line between the police and the demonstrators in the subsequent skirmish.
