Veteran Suicides: See Data In Your County

Our chart shows the number of military veterans who have committed suicide by age group for each of the state's 58 counties.

Between, 2005 and 2008, 2,678 veterans killed themselves in California, at a rate more than double residents of the state with no military service. Check the chart below to see how this suicide epidemic is affecting veterans in your county.

All data comes from an analysis of death certificates provided by the Safe and Active Communities Brach of the California Department of Public Health.
