A student at Oakland High School appeared in juvenile court Wednesday to answer to four felony charges stemming from the accidental discharge of a gun he allegedly brought to school on Friday, a district attorney's spokeswoman said. Renovated Tenderloin Hotel Reopens for Homeless Housing

Some of San Francisco's homeless young adults will now have a place to call home. A 13-year-old girl was among three overnight shooting victims in Oakland, police said. Police found her at another location in Oakland, but determined that she had been shot in the 2200 block of East 12th Street at around 1 a.m. Monday. Oakland police have arrested a 14-year-old boy suspected of sexually assaulting and robbing two women earlier this month. In the first attack on Jan. 6, a 28-year-old woman was walking in the 1200 block of Market Street around 10 p.m. when a male armed with a gun approached her and demanded her wallet.
