About Me

Since 2004, I've edited Bay Nature magazine and BayNature.org, covering nature and open space in the Bay Area. Bay Nature magazine is one of the only full-color, professional local nature magazines in the country. BayNature.org features the region's most extensive nature-related events calendar, a directory of 400+ nature-related agencies and nonprofits, and our archive of articles and short videos from a decade of covering the natural world from Santa Cruz to Sonoma and San Francisco to Stockton. I'm also a proud Oaklander (though a transplant), ardent woodworker, cook, hiker, and occasional activist on climate and environmental issues in Oakland.
