Oakland Chows Down on Fancy Food Cart Fare

Illustrator Jay Sacher gets his hands dirty with the first East Bay Off the Grid street food event

Food trucks have become like bed bugs in San Francisco: found in every neighborhood, not just the gentrifying ones. And Off the Grid, the food truck phenomenon that started at Fort Mason but now has locations all over the city, has been one of the most popular contagions. Drawing Crowds decided to check out the first iteration of the East Bay version of event, and it was delicious —although not, perhaps, the cheapest of eats.
