The Hap Magee Ranch Park Canine Corral was ordered closed until Saturday after a pet that was taken to the park earlier this week was diagnosed with the canine parvovirus, officials said.
An Alamo veterinarian reported the case to Danville officials. The town has begun procedures to reduce the risk of the virus spreading to other animals, including sterilizing drinking areas, removing fecal matter at the park and cleaning the entire dog area.
The park, located at 1025 La Gonda Way, is expected to reopen Saturday.
