Police found one-month-old twins in the car of a Stockton woman arrested for prostitution Wednesday, and turned them over to child protective services, the Oakland Tribune reports.

The 25-year-old woman was arrested after police say she solicited an undercover officer on the 1500 block of 16th Avenue. After agreeing to a price for a specific sex act, she and the undercover officer drove to a nearby fast food restaurant parking lot, where she was arrested.

The woman told police about the twins, who were sleeping in car seats and unharmed in an Oldsmobile with tinted windows. The woman had left a window cracked for air flow. She said she had three other children and needed to make money to get home.

"What else am I supposed to do?" she reportedly asked.

Police fed the twins and took them to the hospital before turning them over to Alameda County Child Protective Services.

Officers did not say what will happen to the woman's three other children, who are ages 3, 4, and 5.
