Twin Peaks Voters Are Not Enthused

Looks like predictions of low voter turnout are coming true. I went to my local polling station near Twin Peaks in San Francisco, and there was only one other person there the whole time I was voting at around 7:30 a.m.

Poll workers said that normally more people come to vote before work, but not so far this year.

For a Democratic city like San Francisco, there probably aren’t a lot of races that pique people’s interest. Senate candidate Barbara Boxer and gubernatorial candidate Jerry Brown have no challengers in the primary.

C’mon guys, can’t you get excited about picking a superior court judge?

Besides the rush of reporters while Jerry Brown voted at 7:30 a.m., it was a similar scene at Oakland Fire House 6, Brown's polling place in the Oakland Hills. Just me, a TV cameraperson, and the mist. http://twitpic.com/1v2c4g

Any stats on how many people are voting by absentee ballot instead, though? That's how I've always done it.
