Jennifer and Ian Hughes of San Francisco didn't know what they were getting into when they planned to get married today.
At around 11:30 a.m., on their way in to San Francisco's City Hall, the pair walked past same-sex couples waiting to see if they'd be able to get married — and Proposition 8 supporters arguing that they shouldn't.
"If anything it's unfortunate that we can go in and get married and there are still people who have to stand outside and hold a sign," Ian Hughes said.
Their wedding was scheduled for noon — which is also when Judge Vaughn Walker's decision on whether to extend a block on same-sex marriages is expected to come down.
