The Obama Administration announced Thursday that it would no longer spend resources trying to deport illegal immigrants who came to the United States as young children "and know no other home," according to news reports.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano wrote in a letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid that the government wants to focus its "enforcement resources on high-priority" criminal cases.

But Napolitano added the change in policy will "not alleviate the need for the passage of the DREAM Act or for larger reforms to our immigration laws." She said that Immigration and Customs Enforcement staff working with Department of Justice will perform a "case-by-case review of all individuals currently in removal proceedings" to determine if they meet the enforcement priorities.

The policy change will also apply to people in same-sex relationships who are facing deportation, The New York Times reports.

How can the POTUS ignore the laws of the land? The laws are valid on their face and if he and his crew wish not to enforce some then they should get the laws changed... simple issue! He took an oath to uphold the Constitution and Laws of this country... then damn it he should do just that.

Simple question... what part of "ILLEGAL" don't they get?

Soonerdiver,

Some laws are immoral and unjust by the standards of simple human decency and should be changed. But, they're 'legal'. A few years back it was illegal for a black person and a white person to marry. Therefore, two of my grandkids would be the product of an 'illegal' liaison. Obama himself would have never been born.

I'm guessing you support S-Comm because it suits your own bigoted view of the world. That's sad. It doesn't say, "Stay the Hell out!" on the Statue of Liberty. It says something else.

Who put the curse on my Giants?
