Muni Posts Movie Ad with Guns: Whoops

Muni shot itself in the foot, so to speak, when it posted ads for "The Other Guys" displaying stars Will Ferrel and Mark Wahlberg pointing guns, Joe Eskenazi at SF Weekly reports.

The transportation agency prohibits ads that "appear to promote the use of firearms."

Although the pistols were replaced with pepper spray cans in versions of the ad posted in Muni stations, an advertising contractor mistakenly placed un-doctored ads on buses and bus shelters, Eskenazi reports.

The offending posters were replaced Thursday with the gun-free version.
