Don’t eat that raw cookie dough. Wright County Egg has expanded its recall of eggs due to potential contamination with salmonella. California is among the states where the eggs were sold under more than a dozen brand names, including Lucerne, Albertsons and Ralph’s.
Some 380 million eggs are included in the recall. Salmonella linked to the eggs has sickened hundreds of people across the country, according to the New York Times. The bacteria that causes the illness is destroyed by heat, but diners can become sick if they eat the eggs when they're raw or undercooked.
Egg eaters can find out from the Food and Drug Administration here exactly which eggs should be returned to the store for a refund.
