The Orange County Register has a nice piece on a new report from the U.S. Census Bureau about how many Americans moved, and where, between 2009 and 2010.
The report suggests that more than 60,000 Californians moved to Texas in 2009, more than to any other state in the country. At the same time, 12,000 Californians moved to Arizona, and 10,000 moved to Oregon — not huge numbers considering that the Golden State has a population of more than 35 million people.
In addition, thousands of people moved to California from Maryland, Michigan and Illinois.
So it seems overall Californians are sticking it out, despite the stubbornly high unemployment rate and lagging economy.
