A 4.4 magnitude earthquake occurred Sunday evening in an area three miles east of The Geysers and 24 miles north of Santa Rosa in Sonoma County.

The U.S. Geological Survey reports the quake occurred at 8:47 p.m. at a depth of approximately 0.2 miles.
