3.6 Earthquake Jolts Bay Area

A magnitude 3.6 earthquake shook the Bay Area on Thursday morning at 5:36 a.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The epicenter of the quake was one mile east of Berkeley.  

There has been notable seismic activity lately on the Hayward fault. Last Thursday, a 4.0 quake hit two miles east of Berkeley, followed by numerous aftershocks.
