More 'A Night at the Opera'

10:38 PM - The Last Word


The last word of the night goes to SF Opera's music director Nicola Luisotti. Only, after the curtain went down and friends cleared out, he had no more words in his head.

Luisotti was rushing off to eat dinner and go to sleep so that he could wake up and direct the dress rehearsal for "The Marriage of Figaro." The day after, he had the first orchestral reading of "Madama Butterfly." And of course, "Aida" still has a few more shows.

"I have nine hours of music in the head right now, too much for one guy," Luisotti said.
