With the holidays here, we took out our cameras and hit OaklandSeen’s shindig. The fashion item on everybody's list? Big rings for her; hats and cool kicks for him.

City councilmember Rebecca Kaplan and NPR host Glynn Washington were among those spotted in the crowd at the Mimosa Champagne Lounge. It might be a sign of the times or just an enlightened crowd but when we asked for a holiday wish everybody hoped for health, hapiness and time with the family. Aimee Allison - Founder of OaklandSeen and the former host of KPFA’s Morning Show

QK: What do you wear to feel sexy or confident?
Aimee: I have a necklace this guy in the Embarcadero made me. It’s my name bent out of copper and it’s super delicate and beautiful. I wear it when I need to remember who the hell I am.

QK : What’s the fashion item on your holiday list?
Aimee: I love big rings. Once you hit 40 you have to have something bold on your index finger to cast spells.

QK : What’s your holiday wish?
Aimee: I guess my wish is that my son and I get to do the three things we do every year. First, go see a holiday show. Second, buy an ornament. Third, cook a good meal together.

Glynn Washington - Host & executive producer of NPR show Snap Judgment

QK : What do you wear to feel sexy or confident?
Glynn: I like to keep it high and low – like if I wear a crisp white shirt, I don’t wear it with a suit but maybe just a jacket and jeans. I like to mix and match.

QK : What’s the fashion item on your holiday list?
Glynn: A big old hat like a sombrero.

QK : What’s your holiday wish?
Glynn: Stop shooting.

Rebecca Kaplan - Oakland city councilmember

QK : What do you wear to feel sexy or confident?
Rebecca: A black leather jacket.

QK : What’s the fashion item on your holiday list?
Rebecca: Well for Hanukah I got a pair of new boots .

QK : What’s your holiday wish?
Rebecca: People should shop in Oakland. The most important thing is to spend your money here.

Nadia: I love wearing dresses with warm stockings.
Roberto: A blazer, a nice pair of black leather shoes and a Kangol hat.

QK : What’s the fashion item on your holiday list?
Nadia: I’ve been looking for earings and big chunky rings.
Roberto: A Kangol hat.

QK : What’s your holiday wish?
Nadia: I wish that I continue doing something that I love and keeps me happy and fulfilled.
Roberto: It’s that my family is happy and healthy.

Matthew Cansler - Works in purchasing

QK : What do you wear to feel sexy or confident?
Matthew: A nice pair of jeans, a t-shirt and nice kicks.

QK : What’s the fashion item on your holiday list?
Matthew: A nice jacket, a lightweight coat…  Oh and shoes!

QK : What’s your holiday wish?
Matthew: It’s that everybody lives in peace.
