Bravo is NOT Casting a Real Housewives of San Francisco

RealHousewives
Like this, but with a Prius.

San Francisco has seen its share of network disasters. Remember when hot nurses and EMT's would roam the streets the city streets during the filming of "Trauma"? R.I.P(pling muscles). But we've also had our share of runaway successes. I can't prove that the mustaches on "Mythbusters"  hosts Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage sparked the hipster craze for facial hair, but, well, they did. At any rate, there seems to be a spate of new television events in store for the city.

Most recently, a call was put out for San Francisco housewives to "...put your best stiletto forward and show us how amazing your life is with an uninhibited unscripted video." (Insert joke about putting your best New Balance/thirfted suede bootie/latex horse hoof forward.) SFist uncovered the Craigslist bid and not unreasonably surmised that Bravo may be casting an installment in the Real Housewives franchise.

But, sadly, no. The Bay Citizen contacted Bravo and they responded, "Bravo does casting for many shows around the country, but this casting call is not for our network." So, what we're looking at here is a particularly tenacious private collector of videos of privileged women, or a rip-off show being cast by another company.

Britney Spears is also slated to make a stop in San Francisco to pre-tape an appearance for "Good Morning America." Various sources place the concert date on March 27 or 29, with the favored location to be in front of the Castro Theater.

And FINALLY (we know you were waiting for the third installment in our list, which officially marks a trend) rumor has it that "The Daily Show" was to have been in town yesterday shooting a segment lampooning The Advocate's choice to deem San Francisco only the 11th gayest city in America. Actually, maybe Britney's appearance in front of the Castro Theater is a sort of protest against this slight?

The Bay Citizen awaits your "Daily Show" correspondent sightings.
