The SF Opera is putting on a much-anticipated production of Richard Wagner's 'Ring' cycle this summer and local artist Micheal Schwab was commissioned to design the poster. Even if the artist's name isn't instantly recognized, his work is likely familiar because the prolific illustrator has been creating iconic images of Bay Area locales and events for years.
The first installment of the cycle debuts June 14th at the War Memorial Opera House. Stay tuned for a longer piece from the Bay Citizen culture desk on the SF Opera's latest undertaking, to publish closer to the first performance.
