We wrote last week that a tribute for bluegrass and country music-loving billionaire Warren Hellman would be held in Golden Gate Park on Feb. 19 at Hellman Hollow, which was renamed in honor of the 77-year-old financier and philanthropist shortly before his death from complications related to leukemia in December.
The Hollow, previously known as Speedway Meadows, is the annual site of the Hellman-backed free music festival, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass. (Hellman also founded and headed the board of The Bay Citizen.)
Since then, the lineup of artists has been released, but the location is now up in the air, as recent heavy rains may have rendered Hellman’s Hollow unusable, according to booker Dawn Holliday.
The artist lineup includes Emmylou Harris, who performed at Hellman’s December memorial, and his own band, The Wronglers. See the full list below:
Emmylou Harris
Robert Earl Keen
John Doe
The Wronglers with Jimmie Dale Gilmore
Old Crow Medicine Show
Boz Scaggs
Gillian Welch
Steve Earle
Dry Branch Fire Squad
Buddy Miller
Kevin Welch
Kieran Kane
Fats Kaplin
Poor Man's Whiskey
All of the performers have graced past Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival stages. The festival began in 2001, and, as written in a statement by Hellman's four children, "the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival will go on!". This year's event is scheduled for Oct. 5, 6, and 7th.

Correction:
A previous version of this story stated that Speedway Meadows was renamed Hellman Hollow following Warren Hellman's death. It was renamed on Dec. 15, and Hellman died on Dec. 18.

A parade! There should be a parade in honor of Warren Hellman's memory.
