With BREAKING NEWS about the incoming snow storm on the minds of many a bored Bay Area worker today, let us turn to the possibilites of an actual ski run. Peter Hartlaub at the Chron has taken a very adorable stroll through the vaults there and Bernalwood, the neighborhood blog for SF's Bernal Heights, has made an intriguing graphic:
Of particular interest to this Bernal resident is the chairlift; we should think about installing that pronto, snow or no snow. And although officially it hasn't snowed in SF since 1976, The Bold Italic wants to make the case that we're seen the white stuff come down more recently. Like the Valentine's Day pillowfight, for instance:
Then again, word around the office is that the National Weather Service is refuting claims that SF will see fluffy snow. We'll just have to wait and see.
Updated, 5:01 p.m.: Well, it's plenty cold but SF has yet to see snow. Bernal Heights neighborhood blog Bernalwood did note some acculmulation from an early morning hail storm here though, in today's ski report:
And, of course, there are the single serving sites, the terse www.isitsnowinginSFyet.com and the slightly more verbose www.isitsnowinginsanfrancisco.com. For those with even more time on their hands (and an inability to go outside and check), there is a live streaming webcam of SF set up by Orange Design.
Fingers crossed, people, that all of these efforts won't be for naught! Remember to use our hashtag should the snow fall (or fail to fall) in the next day: #BaySnOMG.
Updated, 5:13 p.m.: Still not snowing.
