The Bay Citizen is very proud to be a partner of The New York Times. We produce the editorial content for the Bay Area pages of The Times, which appear on Friday and Sunday in local editions of the newspaper. We work very closely with The Times to ensure that these pages meet the highest standards of journalistic excellence and integrity. We are also very pleased to have Jim Schachter, editor for digital initiatives at The Times, as a member of our editorial advisory board. The Bay Citizen stories produced for the Times will also appear on nytimes.com.
The UC Berkeley School of Journalism has been an important part of The Bay Citizen since its inception. We will be working closely with School of Journalism's award winning hyper-local sites, and we will also be teaching a class and welcoming paid interns to our newsroom. In addition, we are jointly developing a "test kitchen" for experimentation and innovation in journalism that will involve UC Berkeley's Engineering and Information Systems schools, as well as the Haas School of Business. Neil Henry, Dean of the Journalism School, is a member of The Bay Citizen Board of Directors, and Associate Dean Paul Grabowicz is a member of our editorial advisory board.
Our collaboration with KGO Radio (AM 810) means that The Bay Citizen's content also reaches KGO's 800,000 radio listeners. KGO Radio and The Bay Citizen news desks jointly develop story ideas and regularly share content, including live and breaking news and community journalism. Our newsrooms also co-develop investigative and enterprise reports on issues critical to the Bay Area community.
The Bay Citizen is very pleased to be working with a wide variety of local independent publishers. You will see their content, and their branding, on our pages, and we'll also be collaborating on stories. If you're interested in learning more about our Community Partner program, please email our Community Editor, Queena Kim, Queena_Kim@baycitizen.org
